But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33
Many years ago the regular Wednesday evening prayer meeting was attended by about 15 people. A farm wife asked, “We have so many unsaved relatives, can we make a list and pray for them by name until they get saved?” We made the list of 18 unsaved souls and agreed to pray for then daily at home, as well as each Wednesday night.
About a year and a half later the Spirit of the Lord came down during special meetings. Christians confessed sin and got right with the Lord. Unsaved relatives came out and were so under conviction that they wept their way to the Lord and got saved. It was a marvelous 2 ½ weeks rather than the usual one week of meetings. Some of the results of those meetings are still affecting that church today.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if God was still willing to work today as he was then? The Lord hasn’t changed! There was fasting and prayer. There were people who had consistently prayed for their loved ones for a year and a half.
We are now living in a day when people are too busy. Many believers today haven’t had the privilege of seeing what the Lord can and will do when we pray as we ought. I am hungry to see the Lord work as he did years ago. I want the youth of today to see what happens when the Lords people get serious about praying in faith, and praying until the Spirit of the Lord comes in his convicting, transforming power. This is my heart felt prayer today.
God Bless
